AD Copy User Account Profile path not updating

Hi,

 

In Active Directory when we copy a user account the profile path doesn't update. The path we have is :

 

\\\UserProfile$\\profile

 

Any suggestions?

 

We use Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2. Setting the profile path via GPO is not an option.

I'm guessing it (the source account) has lost the environment variable string at some point. If you make a new account or change the original source account to have a path of \\\UserProfile$\%username%\profile then copy the profile afterwards it should work the way you want it to, updating the path as expected.

If I remove the \profile it will work no problems but if I have \profile it doesn't.

 

Suggestions?

um, a different folder structure or using a script instead maybe, if the extra trips up the parser then those may be your only options.
