Windows 7, please wait screen hanging.

Sorry if this has already been fixed, if so please provide me with a link.

 

But we are having an issue with some Windows 7 SP1 computers, some random computers are hanging on boot and just displaying the "Please Wait" screen.

 

A configuration change has been made in GPO to show any process that might be happening in the background during the phase, but no updated or MSI's are being deployed.

 

Any help???

Have you enabled verbose messages? This could give you a clue where it's hanging.

put the computer in it;s own OU in AD. Block GPO's and add the default policy

Then gpupdate /force

 

This will let you know if it's one of your GPO's

Try logging on locally to the machine, then run ipconfig /all

 

Is DHCP working correctly and do your DNS servers look correct?

Sounds like the issue we've been having. Resolved by hotfix kb2617858
