jtidd Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Dear All, I'm looking for a .msi for google earth so i can install package on to our Windows XP/Windows 7 network Anyone who can help please? Many Thanks James Tidd Ormiston Victory Academy
localzuk Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Easiest way to do this is to download the installer from here, then also install something like UniExtract. Right click on the GoogleEarthWin.exe file and choose 'Uniextract to subdir'. This will then extract it all, and in the resulting folder are the files and the msi. Stick the entire folder on your deployment share, and set up your group policy to use that msi, and transform it with the 1033.mst file.
jtidd Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 Thanks for reply i have this and all it gives me is a 102 file?? No other files
localzuk Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 What do you mean you did that? I just did it on my machine and it gave me a folder called 'GoogleEarthWin' with 109 objects in (a pile of mst files, a pile of ini files, a couple of folders, an msi and an exe file).
jtidd Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 I downloaded file from the website you said. Downloaded Uniextract and then right clicked on .exe, extracted to c:/temp and all it gives me is a file called ~102? Thanks
SYNACK Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 (edited) Just grab it from @Michael here : Google Earth 6.0 Edit: Use winrar to extract it, there is an MSI etc. Edited November 15, 2011 by SYNACK 1
localzuk Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Did you install uniextract? I'm at a loss as to why you're not getting the same output as I am.
jtidd Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 It has worked from the second download, i can only reason i can thing the first link did not work is becasue it was not zipped? Thanks for your help just need to test it VIA GPO
localzuk Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Uniextract should have been able to extract that .exe file just fine, as it is basically an executable .7z file. Glad you've got that working though.
hardtailstar Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Sorry to bring up an old thread but im getting the same issues when trying to extract the MSI for google earth, anyone got an idea or where to download it from?

Arthur Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Before deploying Google Earth, you may also find it worthwhile to create an MST to delete the included flight sim game. I have attached the MST I use (it's based off of the 2057.mst included with Google Earth).Google Earth v7.1.2.2041.mst
andrewh2012 Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 I've just found out that Google Earth is now a spectacular web app that runs in Google Chrome, so that's solved my problem straight away! 1
