stratisphere Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Okay so we've been getting numerous e-mails from these people for a few months. At first it was just one or two a week but recently it's escalated to one a day and at one point, bounced up to about 4 or 5 in a single day. Our head decided to look in to their claims of "free solar electricity for schools" and decided that even though we would want to do this, we're not in a position to do so at the moment and left a message on their answer machine. Our front office team decided that we were getting too many e-mails from this company so after several ignored requests to remove us from their list... asked me to chase it up. 3 or 4 requests later, still getting them. So I ring them and end up having a conversation with a very rude woman who claimed was the person sending these emails. She ended up saying "Only the head teacher can request this" and hung the phone up. Finally send her an e-mail just saying because of the rude conversation and complete disregard for my request, we've added the company to our blacklist etc. To which we get this reply: See you are technical - you have the solution ! Perhaps we could consult on Database Management, emailing and spams and you could work for me , on a pat time consultancy basis of course ! Why bother phoning me in the first place apart from stamping your feet - I have been up till 5am every morning communicating the message that the Government have cut the Grant for FREE SOLAR and getting it installed by 12th Dec is the difference between 43p per KW gain & free electricity versus 4 p per KW charge - most schools are delighted and the benefit to a school as big as WEOBLY could be as much as a technicians salary for the next 25 years and I am speaking to Paul your business manager and have even visited the schools (3 story 1970s building, went to the infants first my mistake and yes Paul wants it) If you have not been installed by this time you will miss out on the offer of FREE SOLAR as the Government have reduced the tariff from 43p guaranteed for 25 yrs to a mere 21p , reducing every year so in essence after the 12th December 2011 the Grant is gone and instead of being rewarded at 43p locked in for 25 years legislatively, the best tariff we will be able to offer is 5p per KW rising 5% each year plus the ever increasing spiralling energy costs ! Yes I did work at NSO - funny both companies have become one of the fastest growing and featured in the Sunday TIMES top 100 3 times now and continuously employed 50 people despite all recessions so annoying though it is - email communication is the quickest and cheapest route to market and has minimal impact on your target audience -! Imagine how annoyed you would be if you had to lug a heavy brochure up the stairs and open it, getting a paper cut along the way just to find out it is annoying useless confirmation from me ! Consider my job offer - you seem to know what you are doing ! Jill As your'll see from the reply, I looked into this company and noticed that "Gavin" from NS Optimum had registered the domain (under his home address) with his work e-mail. After the massive issues we had getting off their spam lists and the totally rude and forceful sales tactics I'm now not surprised to her response. Funnily enough, later that day she sent me another e-mail "Friends?". Has anyone dealt with this company? What has been their experience. We now have no interest to go with them because of this!
adamf Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Not dealt with them becuase we have just had solar pannels fitted to one of our roofs, but have been getting a large number of e-mails from them. They are now added to the blacklist given they have a connection with NS Optimum whom I share your frustations about!
featured_spectre Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 One place where I worked we had Solar Panels installed, and when we told the companies emailing and ringing that we already have them, their response, "We can see on google maps that you don't have them so stop lying to us"....this was followed by photo's being sent and a letter explaining that if they persisted we would pursue legal action. Funnily enough they stopped after that
plexer Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Jill from NS Optimum wasn't she one of the owners of the company? Ben
stratisphere Posted November 22, 2011 Author Posted November 22, 2011 Indeed, possibily married to Gavin Rose who was MD
MK-2 Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 (edited) Yes I did work at NSO - funny both companies have become one of the fastest growing and featured in the Sunday TIMES top 100 3 times now and continuously employed 50 people despite all recessions fastest growing, employing 50 people? anyway, with the rep NSO have on here and no doubt just among schools in general, good luck staying in that top 100. they delivered stuff to me meant for a school with the same name elsewhere, and then ignored emails until i threatened to bin said goods. and with customer service like that, i'm sure they will go far. at least they have their USP fixed; sell rubbish below par stuff nobody wants and keep pestering them day in day out Edited November 22, 2011 by MK-2
pete Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 (edited) Clinging to awards from 10-11 years ago as a valid indicator of present success is pretty damning. Edited November 22, 2011 by pete
JonWPS Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 But but but but....she's been getting up at 5am every morning.
MK-2 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Funnily enough I received this email (at 11:54PM last night!) but just with a load of rubbish about the govmt cutting the prices etc, and nothing actually about what they supply. It was like reading a paper article on pollution then at the bottom in small print seeing "buy the new ford fiesta from 10k". it was only because i recognised the domain that i knew what this was exactly about without reading 2 pages of text
stratisphere Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 We received two more last night. Coincidentally, they also use another domain (grenergie.com) from "nina".
stratisphere Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 bringing this one back from the dead... they've registered yet another domain! - Jill Rose They are determined to spam, i'll give them that.
Jamman960 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 If only Jill could keep her oar out of sales, I knew the style of that quoted reply looked familiar! wasn't at all suprised Jill was behind it!
featured_spectre Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Just keep reporting the companies to trading standards for harassment!
