nigelp Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 RM's Multimedia Science School comes as SCORM zipped folders which you can install in a moodle course as a SCORM activity. I've done that but when I try to launch a module it hangs with a window saying it is installing compatibility components for the Adobe Shockwave player. This doesn't make sense as we've already got the very latest Shockwave installed on IE 8. Does anyone know how to get around this?
nigelp Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 +++SOLVED+++ Just in case anyone else runs into it - 1. Using the browser having the problem go to Adobe - Shockwave Player 2. Launch any of the games. 3. Once it starts playing right click over the game's screen and choose Properties. 4. In the shockwave settings window untick the 'Allow backward compatibility' box. 5. click OK and return to moodle and MSS.
Achandler Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Apologies Nigel, i never spotted this thread but have been through the same problems you encountered before and solved it. Shockwave also has a habit of installing itself twice (two different versions) and not jsut updating itself like it was meant to, this causes a very similar issue, so look out for that in future.
