I have a client who is thinking about using Linux on their user machines. It would be great if I could tell them that other organizations are using Linux. So if you are using it could you possibly let me know and which distro you have chosen. If you could also post your organization name and size. Many Thanks.

We use Debian Squeeze on a bunch of pupil laptops to load up a minimal GUI and run Chrome in full-screen mode.

We have a few laptops running Linux Mint (browser, LibreOffice running natively, windows apps running on Citrix)

We have a handful of linux servers (RedHat, Debian and Centos) and around 300 thin clients running thinstation.

We use Linux Servers running mainly CentOS, never used Linux as A networked desktop but I Know it can be done, although I have seen student laptops running a flavour of Linux Mint in the past with just Browser and Office capabilities - very secure, fast and reliable systems.

I'm envious of people who use Linux clients, we arn't allowed here, did trial it but wasn't allowed/

forgot to mention we also use it for Linux KVM so as a hypervisor running some 15 virtual machines mixing between 2k3, 2k8 r2 and ubuntu, using a Oracle file system cluster for the Shared storage (HP MSA2000 Fibre Channel)
