glennda Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 We are doing a 1940's themed day here (for remembrance day to raise funds for the Royal British Legion). Need some ideas as to 1940's clothing? I though about getting a cheap uniform or something off the net Any ideas? preferable from clothes that i might be able to get hold of!
X-13 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Make clothes from a pair of curtains. Just like they did back in the day. [Historical information may be inaccurate]

6Foot2 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Is hiring the required items is a possibility? Link: Vintage Years - Costume Hire and fancy dress from 1940s / military to period and medieval to film
tech_guy Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I purchased one of these for a party last month: Men's Wartime Fighter Pilot Fancy Dress Costume
3s-gtech Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I picked up a genuine 1940s soldier's uniform (RWF) from a vintage clothing shop locally for our Open Evening theme. It even fitted me, and I'm 6'2" and just over 11 stone. Anywhere in Yellow Pages?
glennda Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 I'll have a look - i thought about hiring something but didn't want to end up spending loads of money! I'll look through the various links around. Are other schools doing anything on Friday apart from the Mins Silence?
