Profiles & Windows 7 Notebooks

I'm seeking some guidance on profiles specific to Windows 7 64 bit Pro Notebooks. We recently had a batch of new Toshibas in and having cleared off the clutter - Amazon, Skype, E-bay etc want to set them up for student use. The default power settings are 3 minutes and require password re entry to get back on and when that happens network drives have disconnected and need a restart to bring them back. Seems to me like we need to change that setting by default specific to the laptop. I'm thinking I need to do it in the Default Profile but I'm not clear on how to go about that?

 

Bit of guidance would be much appreciated.

if you have an 08 server you can set them via group policy preferences if not and they are domained install rsat on a laptop and set gpp from there
