SC-UK Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Hi all, A friend has an iPhone with a completely broken screen and wants to recover the data from it. The laptop that it was originally synced with is long gone and syncing with a new one will wipe all of the data. Is there any software that I can use, either Mac or PC, that will allow me to recover all of the data? Pictures should be fairly easy but the phone was locked with a pass code and most image retrieving applications do require this to be entered on the phone before getting any data off. After this it is more SMS/Contacts/etc that she wants. Any tips? Thanks
bossman Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 @SC-UK: This might be a step in the right direction:How to Recover iPod and iPhone Data | eHow.com And this also: iExplorer - Formerly iPhone Explorer, is an iPhone browser for Mac and PC Let me know how you get on 1

SC-UK Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 Thanks guys, it will be at least a couple of days before I see the phone but will let you know how I get on!
soveryapt Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 The Macroplant Link (iExplorer) works well, however when I had to recover some bits from my own, I found I had to buy Phone to Mac - Formerly Pod to Mac, iPod, iPad, iPhone Music Transfer Software (also available as Phone to PC - Formerly Pod to PC, iPod, iPad, iPhone Transfer to iTunes Software) to get it back in any sensible format .. The iExplorer lets you see raw data on your phone / ipod etc, but as such stuff as music is stored differently, you may struggle to make sense of it all.
