I have several apple tv's set up in the house connected to the hifi via fibre optic and tv via hdmi in the rooms to play music around the house, so when only playing music I don't need the tv's on. I would like to extend this to the kitchen, The stereo in the kitchen does not have a fibre connection, I could use another another apple tv connected to the tv in there but I would rather not have the tv on when playing music using the multiple speakers in iTunes or via iPad. So the question is this, if I buy a airport express that has the phono audio connection for a stereo, will this appear in the multiple speakers in iTunes? The same as the apple tv's do. I called in to the apple store in Newcastle today and the sales person was as much use as a chocolate fire guard when I asked him this, even after showing him what I needed to know on his iPad and in iTunes on one of the computers. Have any of you got this setup with both apple tv and airport express or seen it set up like this?

Thanks in advance,

My Airport Express is out with a school so can't test ... but from what I remember it will appear in your iTunes as an output device to play to. I never got round to checking whether I could use the Apple Remote app on my iPhone to see if I could swap the output device.
