Scale 3 isn't very much. I'm on Scale 4 here and full time..

The sheet I have on the wall says £13,701 - £14,244. However it might be out of date.

I'm also on Scale 4 and full time working in Preston. I don't have the qualifications for this scale 3 job

 

Before January I was previously on Scale 3 at around point 14 working pro rata that was £12600 or £15120 if I'd have been full time.

Scale 3 Point 14 is £13,953 according to my sheet.

i've not got a clue what scale i'm on but i do know i'm at the top of whatever scale i'm on at £15858 ish a year so could that be scale 3???

No that's the middle of Scale 4.

It wouldn't suprise me if it's a little off, I'm not sure how old it is. However it wont be out very far. Maybe a few hundred quid or so.

If you are talking about National Joint Council pay scales (i.e. a single status authority), then a three year deal just ended. I've attached a spreadsheet with the information below.

 

A new deal is yet to be struck for 2007 - it's looking like it'll be around 2~2.5%, with inflation at 3.1% this amounts to a pay cut in real terms.

 

When the new pay is secured by the NJC, the pay will be backdated to April 1st. Maybe an extra few quid for beer money

 

I started on bottom of scale 4 in September 05. My NM left to another school and I took over her responsibilities. I have recently (December 06) been through Job Evaluation and came out top of scale 6.

my wage is £15825 i've been and asked and i'm at the top of scale 3 according to that spreadsheet. so really someone with an mcse or mcp would really be wanting more than that i would imagine. i don't have those qualifications and i don't feel that i get paid enough as it is!

Qualifications backed by experience and a a few years at your current institution proving your worth and making sure the right people know what it is you do day in day out.

We dont have a great budget for equipment etc but I have made good progression through the scales doing all of the above. I am lucky as I have a very supportive line manager and other key members of the school have meant I have been rewarded as my responsibilities have increased.
