ActivInspire Writing Disappears Issue

Hi All,

 

One of our teachers has an issue with his ActivInspire. He will write an equation (for example 1/2 + 1/4), then go around the class getting answers or asking other questions, when he is done, he will turn back to the board and parts of his writing have disappeared (eg. the equation will now read 1/2 - 1/4 as the vertical line of the plus will have disappeared). This happens on more than one machine and if he highlights and copies the contents of the board, when it is pasted, the pieces that have disappeared will be present again.

 

We are using:

 

Windows Vista SP2

 

ActivInspire 1.5.34144

 

Has anyone seen/heard of this problem before ad do you know of a fix. We have tried re-installing the software and re-setting the users profile (however as this is happening across multiple machines these seemed unlikely causes anyway). This was also happening prior to us upgrading to the 1.5.34144 version (however I cant confirm that as this is ust what the user has told me)

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm having a similar problem using ActivePrimary. The writing disappears, but if I flick forward to the next page and then back it reappears.

No luck yet with a solution.

There is a Promethean forum in which guys from Promethean monitor.

Good luck as I have the same problem going back months.

 

It started in one room and moves about from room to room.

I've updated to the latest ActivPrimary and drivers. Changed board, pen, laptop, power supply and cables.

Hi Pete,

 

ActivInspire V1.6 is available for download with and I quote,

 

“Now with advanced pen and touch capability (for ActivBoard 500 Pro users), and new mathematics equation editor functionality to open a new world of learning opportunities.”

 

It would be my first port of call to try the new version as they may have had problems with equations and version 1.5.

If you're just doing basic writing, try using MS Paint or other basic drawing programs you might have installed. If only to determine if it's software (Activ*) or something else.

 

When we've had similar problems with writing in ActivStudio/Inspire, a complete re-install of the software usually sorts it out.

Have seen the problem of text vanishing with ActivInspire 1.5. Teacher had extended length of page so had scroll bars, and when scrolling up and down page, text would disappear.
