tarquel Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 May seem like a odd one but this is the general chat section. I'll add more to this post later after I've had 40 winks but feel free to post if ya do and what your still running (if you are still running it ) To anyone who cares: You can even get USB on Amiga you know lol Cheers, N. PS. No flaming mark ;)
Dos_Box Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 I have an ST propped up against a bookcase in my computer room at home. Does that count (sort of)? Apart from not being an Amiga that is!
ConTheITGuy Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 I have an Amiga 1200 - haven't a clue where it is though! Probably in parents attic! My ZX Spectrum 48K+ went to some undeserving relation I think, but my Amiga was my pride and joy. No wait... my Atari 2600 went to the undeserving relation - my Spectrum ended up in the bin Andy.
MkII Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 hehe! My parents sold my '64 rig - LOL We have a Dragon here at sch - made in wales dont-cha-know!
StewartKnight Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 This school still has, and up-until January were still using Acorns! So if anyone needs 30 BBC 'B's, you know where to come! Stewart Knight Network Manager Appleby Grammar School
Geoff Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Got a BBC B+ which I occasionally dig out and play Elite on. Got a ZX81 in its original box with all the extras that's worth a lot of money as a collectors item.
MkII Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 ZX81 - wow! ZX80's used to be highly prized - wonder what they're all worth now... ? Just looked at ebay price of ZX80 - Buy It Now for £299 !!!

Geoff Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Whaaaat! Its because its in its original box, with its manuals, extra cables, and registration and warranty cards. ie, mint condition. Plus, it still works.
ninjabeaver Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 I missed the whole Amiga part. I started with the ZX81 with the wobbly 16K Ram Pack. Then the rubber keyed Speccy 48k, then the Speccy 128K +2 ( the one with the tape built in) and then I got a Speccy +3 with the 3" Floppy Drive (Double sided discs, and I've just found a box of them in the stores here!!). I then went to the Atari ST 512K and upgraded that to 1MB. I loved the computer. After that it was a 486 SX25, and on from there. Strangely enough the 486 I had came in for repair at the place I was working at. I took it home with me. It still had my mum's address on the box!!
RobC Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Got a BBC B+ which I occasionally dig out and play Elite on. Geoff, if you loved Elite (like I did!), check out Eve Online. It's an online space-game similar to Elite & Frontier, and it's fantastic.
tarquel Posted June 23, 2005 Author Posted June 23, 2005 Eve online - subscribed for a while but got bored lol Couldnt get into the storyline - not enough time in the day... Too busy enjoying FF Online now But anyhow, we digress. @Geoff: 4 grand?? You can still get original boxed ones you know lol see my links in the other post Cheers, Nath
tarquel Posted June 23, 2005 Author Posted June 23, 2005 I'll take a screen dump of edugeek.net once i hook it up to the net [yes you can do it before someone thinks I'm ...er... "extracting the urine" lol] Cheers, Nath.
Geoff Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Geoff, if you loved Elite (like I did!), check out Eve Online. It's an online space-game similar to Elite & Frontier, and it's fantastic. Played Beta...
