Oooh! My husband's a former pupil of this one :D

Myself and @ashman91 are applying...me for the manager, him for the tech :) Would be nice to work together again! :)

It's an either, or position not both unfortunately...

Used to work there quite a few years ago when I first started out in IT. Nice school. Posh kids. Nice location just outside Bedford. Split site when i was there. Would have considered it myself if it was another 10k.

We would like to appoint an experienced ICT technician who has the ability to take on a managerial role (Level 4). If you are interested in working in this area but do not yet feel you are ready for a managerial role,

Are they saying they would like an ICT Technician to work as a manager?

It's clearly gone up in the world which is nice to hear. Husband says it was pretty rough when he was there in the 70s

After travel etc its a nice pay increase from my old school and its not too far from where I live which is a bonus.

Surely it will be a big drop in pay for you?

I am on the upper end of the NM scale at the minute, if I go full time I will drop by 5k but still above assistant NM pay scale :)

Correct, I am on contract at the minute. My old school was £12k as a NM, and I tried for years to get a pay rise with no joy so ended up leaving and doing contract work. Contract expired for now, but still made enough to cover me for 2 months :)

The school where I was on contract is paying £25k for the full time position (I negotiated higher but then they decided to drop it), however this place is offering £23k, and without any where near as much travel costs I still end up with more :)
