Folder icons nmot showing

Some clever so and so (e.g teacher wit htime on their hands ) has produced a maths resource CD and has included instructions to click on the folder with the star or click on the folder with the green arrow.

 

Trouble is - if you copy the CD to a computer - the folder icon goes back to the normal yellow folder default.

 

Any ideas?

I'm assuming that if you browse the CD you can see the "special" folders with their icons? If so, you could try browsing their properties to work out where the icon is stored and then create a new CD/ISO that points explorer at WhereverYouDecideToCopyTheCDTo\Location\Icon rather than WhateverYourCDDriveLetterIs\Location\Icon. (I think).

Tried that one - nothing their.

There is a hiiden desktop.ini file that mentions icons in the folders but even when that's copied - still no "pretty" fodler icons

If you right click the folder and go to properties there something there to change the icon. From the sounds of it, those icons are some of the default windows ones. If they dont appear, browse to C:\Windows\System32\Shell32.dll
