Axel Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Bit of a cheek asking this - but someone might know. I have a LG TV which has a "Plex Media Client" embedded. I have the Plex Media server installed on XP PC. The PC has wifi and ethernet. It streams video fine through the wire, but if I disable the ethernet controller. nothing over the wifi. I can ping TV and router and PC (both wifi and wired) fine. Netstat shows the Plex port is open Have tried rebooting everything in various combinations. Firewalls for wifi / wired set the same - and tried disabling the firewall altogether Netmasks all the same Everything DHCP When you run an app like Plex, apart from disabling the network controller, if there a way to force it to bind to a specific NIC ? Looking on google they talk about setting wifi for "home" mode and not "public" - but these settings are not on XP, and in any event they just setup the firewall differently...? I hope I am not displaying my ignorance publicly - anyone got any ideas... (BTW when it works - Plex is a great product)
LeMarchand Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Does the TV have wireless built in, or do you need a dongle? If the latter, do you have the "official" dongle? I have seen mixed reports with people just using any old wireless dongle.
