Rawns Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Caspian Border 64 Player Conquest servers will be opened up this weekend for testing on PC! ... Battlelog / Sign in to the Open Beta Posted 11:34. Just seen hat EA will be unlocking the Caspian Border map in the Beta this weekend for load testing their 64-Man servers!!!! Bring on the armour!
ZeroHour Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 +1 for the controller! If I remember though, BF2 was not too bad for flying with mouse & keyboard! I have my own personal TS3 server I run on my media centre at home. Got a good connection + bandwidth so I'm happy to create an Edugeek channel for people to use free of charge for BF3 purposes. If only EduGeek had its own TS3, wait we do http://www.edugeek.net/forums/gaming/53754-edugeek-teamspeak-3-server.html My warcraft guild uses mumble. Servers are cheaper and work better (quality/bandwidth/cpu). Mumble is not bad but it was pretty basic when I used it before, TS3 has amazing permissions etc and vent seems to have best sound.

I'll add it to my favourites later this evening. We'll need to discuss the edugeek BF3 server

Epic, Beta session tonight then? I find TS3 best overall. Nice, easy to use interface and I think the sound is better then vent.
Geoff Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 The last major release was 1.2.3 which came out in Feb. It had a lot of improvements and bug fixes. TS has a better permissions model but Mumble beats Vent on sound quality. We also have a lot of issues getting new guildies setup on mumble for some reason.
ZeroHour Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 BTW all the maps are live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rawns Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I'm guessing the 2 maps in the Beta rather than ALL maps?
ZeroHour Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 Caspian map is live now rather then later when CET afternoon starts
Rawns Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Well, not to good for me. Loaded Fraps and it seems I get between 12-15 FPS on Caspian Border.
Steve21 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 What do you all think of it so far? Worth shelling out £45~ when it's out? Steve
featured_spectre Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 for xbox yes, takes a bit of getting used too compared to bc2...but very good
ihaveaproblem Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 What do you all think of it so far? Worth shelling out £45~ when it's out? Steve Worth the money if ask me.
Rawns Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Awesome game, but if your going for the PC option, make sure your rig can handle it.
featured_spectre Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Indeed, what @Rawns said. I personally am getting it on xbox, mainly because I hate having to upgrade all the while to run games on the PC. However it is a cracking game nonetheless for all options
ZeroHour Posted October 8, 2011 Author Posted October 8, 2011 Awesome game, but if your going for the PC option, make sure your rig can handle it. Caspian is still to get driver fixes I believe as nvidia/ati mostly tweaked for metro.
ihaveaproblem Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 AMD have released a version 2 of the 11.10 driver here AMD Catalyst I still experience some problem such as flickering and at times my game randomly closes when playing caspian border. Caspian border is loads of fun. I much prefer it then metro. I love to use a sniper rifle and with the size of this map there's so many long range sniper spots, plus all the fun in the vechiles

I love to use a sniper rifle and with the size of this map there's so many long range sniper spots, plus all the fun in the vechiles I gave it a good blast but in the end, the performance was just to poor for me to actually enjoy it. My mate reported crashing in Caspian Border too. And for me, as soon as people start moving around, their model vanishes and all I see is their name floating about! Also, my gun vanishes quite often. How do the jets handle?
CAM Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 I preferred Metro but it was down to the performance problems on Caspian Border. Hopefully they will be fixed by release. I love the game's feel though, goes really quiet with just the right level of ambience then all hell can break loose.
Butters Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Ran fine on my machine, just really hope everything is all ironed out by release.
gshaw Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Doesn't run on mine atm as the new stuff is still in boxes on the desk Really need to get a move on and get everything done in time!

SC92 Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 I'm so joining this when it comes out. When does the beta close?!
