plexer Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Has anyone else had this issue that when you exit sketchup 8 it freezes? then it will either exit cleanly or just die, I've read on google pages that some seemt o think it's due to going through a proxy. Also when you try and save something it always gives me an error about the path not being available as my documents is redirected to a unc path for the students, when you then pick the mapped drive h: it saves ok. Ben
denon101 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I have this problem too. Well the freezing on exit. I also have a problem when attempting to access the 3d warehouse it hangs for a while then you get access. I found out that it's something about a proxy but I have not managed to find an answer. Would be interested to find out the answer.
Heebeejeebee Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 (edited) We getthe freezing / 30 second wait until it shuts as well. But only if you don't save anything. Although if you run it then move any object and click exit without saving it shuts ok also. Very weird! No answer yet either - just more info. HBJB Edited September 27, 2011 by Heebeejeebee
irsprint84 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Sure it isnt trying to access some wierd place on c:\ ? does this happen on staff/ admin accounts?
plexer Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Does it even when logged on as local admin. Ben
irsprint84 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Internet says its to do with autosave and to turn it off Window>Preferences>General 1
Mr.Ben Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Also when you try and save something it always gives me an error about the path not being available as my documents is redirected to a unc path for the students, when you then pick the mapped drive h: it saves ok. Could that be the same problem as I had with photostory the other day: It would not save to a unc path unless users have at least read access on the folder above their profile? basically photostory would save to users H:\ drives, but use the profile to navigate to my docs caused it to fall over. 1
plexer Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Will look into both of those tomorrow. Cheers guys. Ben
jtidd Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Can you turn autosave off using ORCA as need to make the autosave change before rolling out .MSI? Also anyway when you uninstall the program can you stop the comment page popping up as i think this is the the reason it does uninstall when rolling out via GPO Thanks
