Screen Resolution constantly resetting - anyone still have res.exe?

Got an issue where new PCs connected to a projector and monitor auto-detect the screen resolution as 800x600 at every logon. I'd like to automatically set the resolution to 1024x768 at logon. I had a script that used res.exe - but I can't find the executable anymore!

Does anyone have a copy of res.exe that came as part of a Microsoft resource kit that I could have?

Failing that, any other ideas for specifying the resolution of the display at logon?

qres is another, command line based tool for changing res and refresh rate.

Works very well, infact too well. Dug out an old machine I'd set it up on, said machine had had a CRT. Plugged it in to a TFT, logged in, screen went blank and I got an out of range message.

Thank you all. Found that by disabling the utility that was automatically changing the resolution to whatever was plugged in - all was well! For any with a similar issue in the future, the registry entry was: HCLM\Software\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ "Persistence.exe"
