[android tablet] Need a browser that ignores the proxy setting to play LAN contentbut plays flash

DEfault browser ignores ip address exception

 

Opera doesn't seem to allow me to access LAN IP addresess

 

Firefox doesn't do Flash on 'droid.

Don't know if it'll do it but Skyfire is another one you could try (I use that as my main browser on Android, I believe it's still free...)

Skyfire seems to follow the default browser/wi-fi setting e.g. uses the proxy but ignores the LAN IP exception instruction!!!

you can get firefox for android but its designed for phones not tabs and as such looks pants and iirc dosent like flash)

To be honest, if it's the same in all the browsers, it's probably down to Android. We all now how great Android is at handling proxys.

Well - a bit of progress!

 

Opera has its own proxy settings and you can configure it to ignore proxy for specific IPs

But....

 

... it doesn't seem to play back Flash videos (epresso ones anyway)

 

It runs the rest of the site ok - but no videos

The "flash" videos it doesn;t play are actually mpeg-1

 

But anyway, I'd forgotton that, in my schools, the server that Espresso is loaded on is also a proxy server so setting its address as the proxy server (rather than the main county server) in the wi-fi settings means the default browser can be used for both Espresso and Internet
