ihaveaproblem Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Why not remove the proxy from the default domain policy and have it applied on students and the ones that need a different proxy set their gpo to reflect this.

I want Staff to have a Complex password and Students to be able to set a normal one. Why is Default Domain Policy over-writing everything and yet everything says it shouldn't be. J.

jgcracknell Posted September 18, 2011 Author Posted September 18, 2011 On Printers Script Policy - Loopback processing mode is set to Merge There is no Loopback enabled on Student GPO Domain Policy is down at Number 16 on the list on the machine for precedence. Everything else above it. If I set Enforced to on should that make it work for sure? I just don't want to experiment too much and take out the network with everyone using it. Working in a small school we area all out of the building by 6pm and it is closed at weekends so no time to play without hurting anyone!

Have you tried knowing the client off the domain and putting it back? What does gpresults and rsop say? Do you have any errors in eventvwr of domain controller or client? Richard Richard
ricki Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Hi Sorry I forgot Do you have wmi filters on the policies that do not apply. Is the policy that overwrites the corrupt and does it have the correct adm for ie. Old adms do not always apply to new versions of internet explorer? Richard
januttall Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 try an rsop.msc on one of the machines and it will inform you of all the polices aplyed and errors aplying some GPO's if you do a gpresult it will tell you which haven't been aplyed and why hope this helps. Gpresult will also say if wmi filters are blocking policys aplying
