Not able to insert flash files into Joomla 1.7

I'm not sure where to post this.

I'm trying to insert a flash movie into a Joomla 1.7 template, but no matter which editor I use (Tiny MCE, JCK Editor, JCE EDitor) once I click Save the file disappears. I can see it in the dialogue window before inserting it, and if I type in the full pathname in a browser I can view it. Though the template is my own design, I have tried using standard Joomla template with the same results. The flash movie works in Joomla 1.5. I've Googled the problem, but found nothing of any note.Has anyone encountered this themselves?
