OCR software for tablets

a member of staff has bought a trust 1200-v2 tablet, in order to 'get round the problem' of not being able to type. there's no ocr software with it. has anyone any recommendations (apart from the usual)?

Only thing i could suggest, which probably falls under the "usual" umbrella, is to run XP Tablet Edition or Office 2003, which i believe have handwriting support.

 

Other than that, i don't know, sorry.

Certainly, the handwriting recognition software in XP Tablet Edition is supposed to be very high quality (although I'm certain it would still throw a fit if faced with my handwriting!).

 

Also, combine it with OneNote 2003 (make sure it's got SP1 installed). OneNote really comes into its own on Tablet PCs.

the member of staff, "I'm 49 and can't be arsed to learn how to type." had the tablet for a fortnight and found it too "difficult" and has now ordered a digital pen at around £140.00. why does this depress me?

@beeswax: I bet theat they won't hand the tablet PC back to you - insisting that they still need a mobile computer and that it's THEIRS (not the school's!).

it's theirs until it "goes wrong", then they need a replacement, quick, as they can't do their lesson plans/schemes of work/insert appropriate task.
