[civica] Corero - SQL Permissions [Solved]

Hi,

 

We have the Corero Financial system and have setup on a SQL 2010 Database. It worked fine on training (I wasnt here) but now no one can get on due to SQL permissions.

 

The users have dbowner permissions on both live and training databases so cant understand why that is not enough!

 

Does anyone know what persmissions users need on teh SQL databases to be able to connect??

Yes. No one on there Helpdesk knows how to deal with it!

Is this web based system or tradditional client/server?

Are the training and real databases on the same server? If not, are external connections enabled for SQL?

The issue, as you have found out, is the Windows Firewall which blocks access to the required ports.

 

When you turn the firewall back on you will need to create a rule to allow access to SQL Server. If SQL Server is installed in the default instance then the TCP port you will need to allow access to is 1433, If SQL in installed into a named instance then the TCP port is normally 1434.
