  1. Hi The issue, as you have found out, is the Windows Firewall which blocks access to the required ports. When you turn the firewall back on you will need to create a rule to allow access to SQL Server. If SQL Server is installed in the default instance then the TCP port you will need to allow access to is 1433, If SQL in installed into a named instance then the TCP port is normally 1434.
