Quatermass Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Just got a batch of these and the build hangs at the "Copying setup files to hard disk" stage (i.e. just before it would normally tell you to take out the build disk). Looks like it's partitioned the HDD OK (we checked via BartPE CD) but not able to SYS it ready for the next reboot. Any ideas?

I am having the exact same problem with 790s - with 100 workstations - Smartclient is not really an option I want to look at ! Thanks
Oaktech Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 have you tried setting the bios to use ide mode? we had that with some stone machines, also on cc3
Incisive12 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Thanks for the reply - I have looked at the bios settings - changed sata to ata mode if thats what you mean. Checked all other bios settings - nothing else I can change!
Oaktech Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 thats the one... if that makes no difference, I'm not sure what it might be, but can you try a diferent means of getting the build info onto the machine, we've found that we have some newer machines which prefer our netac build USB sticks and have hanging issues using usb floppy drives...
Incisive12 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Thanks. Currently using netac usb sticks. Also changed the config.sys file himem switch to add the m:1 parametre which got me past the first stage of the build process. This seems to be the last hurdle I cant overcome. I
