Add drivers to existing 2008 installation

I've restored a working installation of Server 2008 R2 (that was installed on a single disk sata system) to the same server but on a RAID1 enabled disk system (its an HP DL120 G6 using the onboard RAID)

 

Problem is now the server blue screens at the boot stage - which I guess is due to the new raid array needing a driver. I have the correct driver but is there any way I can add this to my installation of Server 2008? I can't even boot it into safe mode so is there any other way I can do this? I've tried the Startup repair but that doesn't do anything - it does detect the drive array after I add the drivers so proves the drivers are working.

 

All I want to do is add the drivers to the server installation so it will boot up - even safe mode would be a start!

You may want to try a bare metal restoration. This should work in theory

I've tried that - problem is my backup isn't recognised when I to restore from it, no matter where I store it the restore process never recognises the backup.

Argh, this is going from bad to worse. Now I can't get the original server back onto the domain - presumably becuase the restored version changed the AD settings. So i can't join it to the domain and the local Administrator account doesn't work anymore, it always says 'invalid username or password' even when I change the password with a recovery tool!

 

Looks like a complete, flat install from scratch. Recovery of 2008 server has been a total nightmare and has failed on just about every point!

What backup software are you using?

I tried Windows Server 2008 Backup which failed to recognise the backup set no matter where I put it (remote share, local drive etc) so I then used Backup Exec (remote agent) and that backed up and restored (to the new disk) perfectly! I just can't use that version as it blue screens due to the RAID drivers.
