I'm looking for a module (or similar function) which will allow for the automatic vertical scrolling of articles in either of the sidebars in Joomla 1.6/1.7. Spent a fruitless morning trying to locate something to do the job, but no luck so far.

Not sure how customisable the module you have is but you might be able to add some simple Javascript into it so that it auto scrolls. you might also need to change a mysql query as there might be something which limits the results - if you let me know what module you have i'll see if i can decifer the code.

lofarticlesscroller by land of coder allows you to auto-scroll articles and is highly customisable, allowing you to add images, publication date, etc. It's a commercial component, but cheap, and well supported. The code is easy enough to hack as well. It uses mootools, so no jquery that's going to mess with the rest of your js.
