Oaktech Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 (edited) Hi chaps, we've navigated fairly successfully around the trauma which is office 2010 customsation tool, but i have a question i can't find an answer to. when a user starts outlook it prompts for them to enter a profile to be used, this is not ok! There is only one profile in the list, and the ability to set others is disabled by policy but i can't find an option to stop it prompting. Any ideas? Edited August 15, 2011 by ZeroHour
Steve21 Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Is it always asking every time you open or only first? There's an option to set a profile to use and disable prompting under the mail options. Steve
Oaktech Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 asking every time... i know about the way to set it on a per machine basis, but i need to know if there is a way of making this a global setting using the customization tool or a policy
Steve21 Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Options\PickLogonProfile Set to 0 for Always use it blahblah. 1 = Ask Steve 1
Oaktech Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 Right ho. we'll give that a go. Many thanks...
Oaktech Posted September 15, 2011 Author Posted September 15, 2011 Just to let everyone who commented on this know, I've fixed the problem. By going through a 'fake' OCT process -nas in, I ran the setup.exe /admin on my workstation, never saved an MSP file but configured outlook as required and then exported the settings. then manually placed the prf on a test machine, reset the profile of the test user and removed the settings folder for it from docs and settings. rebooted the machine and everything worked like a charm. so, technician: 1 - RM: 0
