It's very believable as it's almost certainly true to some extent. Not because of intent; less, shall we say savvy people, will be far less inclined to stray from the path of what's already on their computer and won't be installing Firefox/Opera etc, as opposed to someone who is either more savvy, curious or willing to find out what's best for them.

It really wouldn't surprise me if it's not a hoax, regardless of the age of the site etc; they've just been quickly hushed/debunked for the sake of a popular browser's standings. Not the first time that sort of thing has occurred!

 

Hmm. Wonder where the line is between naivety and cynicism is.

That reminds me, the front office just called for you, they said could you pop out to the sports field as there's a man in a black helicopter here to see you.
