Iiyama Monitor and Stone Computer

Hiya Guys,

 

Don't know if you can help me but this is causing a real headache for me ... and I'm getting fed up of it now ... dont know what else to try.

 

I have 5 Stone SFF PC-1102's with Intel DH55TC motherboards. These have the dual output (DVI-D and VGA). With these 5 computers they each have an Iiyama Prolite P1905S attached, these are connected through DVI-D and they also have a projector each attached, through VGA.

 

The problem that I am having is that when some of the teachers switch the computers on there is no picture being outputted to the Iiyama monitor, only their projector. They then have to use the Intel HD Graphics Utility to clone the output to both, so somewhere it is losing this setting.

 

Also when the monitors go to sleep, when the teacher tries to wake back up, by either tapping the keyboard or wiggling the mouse, the monitor again wont wake up.

 

In the BIOS I have set the primary and secondary outputs, Primary being DVI-D and Secondary being the VGA. I have tried to find drivers for the monitor, but Iiyama dont supply any, I have been in contact with them by email as well. Tried updating the Intel HD Graphics driver, but the Intel website seems to be running very slow for me today and even when I do run the Auto-Detect utility, when I click on the Download link the file can not be found.

 

Really, really stuck and don't know what to try. Any help would be much appreciated.

Forgot to add .... they run Xp, but were originally shipped with Windows 7

Hi Tom,

 

Interesting problem;

 

Can you try the following please:

1/ Disable the second output in the BIOS, leaving just the Primary output as DVI-D. The output should still be clonable using the Intel utility while in Windows, or by using Windows itself

2/ And/or try a BIOS update to version 46 or later, as the newer BIOSes have an updated Video BIOS:

Bear in mind that a BIOS update might erase your preferred video output settings, so you might need to set them again in the BIOS.

XP on new hardware will certainly cause some issues like that; perhaps some cheap USB powered vga splitters in the meantime might be a better and more convenient bet.

Thank you both for your replies. I will try what you said Andrew when the computers are not in use.

 

It just seems really weird, because you'll get it working, for a couple of days it will be fine and then it throws its self out again, and only show on the VGA output. To be honest it seems like the Intel Utility is loosing the setting, but hey ho ... we will give it a try.

Try removing the Intel Utility from Startup and let Windows manage it...

Ohh yeah ... that might be worth a try as well, but will it clone it or will I have to run extended desktops ..... because I know that a lot of our teacher wouldn't be able to manage that lol.
