MattDLEA Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Sorry think this may be an easy question for someone to answer. We have a cc3 network with a cachepilot but over summer were going to a ranger network, for this i have to build a machine that we can image which means taking it off the network installing windows all the service packs updates ect? Now i have took the computer off and installed windows on there, but now i cant get it on the internet to get all the patches and service packs? TIA
leegcvcc Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Hi, proxy server needed? I don't know how a CC3 network works but you should be able to make your machine a static IP address on the same subnet as your internal router interface and make the router interface your default gateway and set a proxy setting if it's an upstream proxy. Don't know how you've got your network set up so quite hard to say. Any more details on how you get out your network? cheers
mrwobbly Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 The computer should pick up all the IP settings ie gateway from the CC3 server. The problem is more likely you have not put the proxy settings in. Login to a CC3 computer as systemadmin and open internet explorer. Go To – Tools – Options – Connections – Lan Settings – Advanced. Note down all the proxy settings and put them on the computer you are building. 1
