soveryapt Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I am mainly treating the updates notification in Windows 7 like my alarm clock in the morning .. I keep hitting snooze (well, Postpone) .. lol .. 1
elsiegee40 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I'm doing that with the firefox 5 update notification... update later
laserblazer Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Alarm clocks reminded me to put an important meeting with the HT in my organiser. Got distracted at the time and forgot.
soveryapt Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 Alarm clocks reminded me to put an important meeting with the HT in my organiser. Got distracted at the time and forgot. Aww .. gee, I feel all useful and appreciated all of a sudden .. lol .. Glad to be of service!
Jamman960 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 If only you could postpone for more than 4 hours - 1 week would be enough
soveryapt Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 I'm doing that with the firefox 5 update notification... update later I've only recently let mine upgrade to version 4 never mind 5 .. lol ..
mthomas08 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I'm doing that with the firefox 5 update notification... update later I updated right away, it actually fixed all the firefox issues I was having with 4. (Had tried several reinstalls etc of 4...) 5 has hit the right buttons.
elsiegee40 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 According to the update 3 of the plugins I use aren't compatible with FF5, so I'm ignoring it for the time being.
TechMonkey Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Yeah, the big one is Google toolbar, though you can hack it to work fine.
Gatt Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 If only you could postpone for more than 4 hours - 1 week would be enough Stop and set the service to manual and schedule a task to start it once every week?
john Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Yeah, the big one is Google toolbar, though you can hack it to work fine. Why would you want that when it has a Google Search box as part of FF? Must admit I keep ignoring mine at home and work for both FF and Windows Updates, still need to do SP1 at home on W7 as well as at work on my PC to test how it goes....
rad Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Alarm Clock - ahh yes, I need to set a reminder to go to a classroom tomorrow to check in advance for interviews taken place. Cheers All
TechMonkey Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Why would you want that when it has a Google Search box as part of FF? Mail alerts, page searching, translation, up a level, favourites, all the add on bits. I have it set so that it uses the FF search box but has the tools available
