JG5 ALL YEAR ROUND 37 HOURS PER WEEK (£19,621-£22,221)

 

To start as soon as possible we are looking to appoint a full-time permanent ICT Network Technician to assist the IT Manager in the running of the IT Network and services throughout the school.

 

The Technician will exercise initiative in correcting software problems in busy classroom situations and ensure efficient operation of systems involved with administration and support services. Some support will be provided to our local cluster Primary schools.

 

The main responsibilities of this post are detailed in the Job Description and the desired qualifications and experience are outlined in the Person Specification.

Nice! Just about to do a server 2008 r2 course

 

The only downside is im not the best at policys Did you have much todo with the policys?

Also whats the main thing you do thats hard to get your head around?

I wrote the original policies when we migrated from XP to Windows 7 - but now these are complete so it is only minor tweaking.

I don't find policies a problem if their clean and everyone understand what they do and doesn't touch them without a plan! The problem is when you have a spiderweb of policies without documentation.

That was an excellent IT skills test BTW, I really enjoyed it.

What was on the test?

Setup and fix a dismantled PC (re-seat disturbed memory, reconnect drive cables/power, etc). Boot up, add to domain. Create user account, share a folder and create password.txt file to put in it. Much more interesting that going through the BIOS settings for HDD, plugging in n/w cable, etc that you get at most interviews. The written test was very good too.
