Arthur Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Great review. I'm surprised Kermode didn't talk about Michael Bay using footage from The Island in Transformers 3... http://youtu.be/H7kcqB3thJM?hd=1 also...
gmj Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 This film cost something like $200 million to make and Mr Bay had to reuse an old bit of footage?
MK-2 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 The film itself is rubbish and the inclusion of Rosie whatever her name is was a stupid thing. She is best suited to underwear modelling or whatever she came from, acting is not her thing! You could have removed her from the movie and not seen any difference. The plot was very.....ugh.....in that they now try to tie in historical events to the autobots. The action was quite good but over done I think. It just felt like it tried too hard. I'll be sticking to the 80s cartoons instead I think....unless perhaps a new director takes over
LeightonJames Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 That is appalling!! I cannot believe that they have allowed that to happen. 2 scenes from a 6 year old movie have made it into what is supposed to be a summer blockbuster. Shocking!!

Shocking!! to be fair the "scenes" are really about 2 seconds long, and if you were a CGI developer given the choice of painstakingly creating a whole new 2 second bit of a car crashing, or just using an old one but redesigning it, wouldn't you accept the one that takes less work?
LeightonJames Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I would because i'm lazy and i don't get paid the same amount of money as the CGI guys do
