Macbook BootCamp Encryption and documents location

Hi All,

We are buying several macbook's for staff to compliment imac suites we have.

How do you encrypt a macbook in a bootcamp config? Is it possible?

Also how do you manage the documents location, ideally it would be great to have documents in the same place whichever os is used?

What are you wanting to encrypt? the whole hard drive or just the home folder?. You can encrypt the home folder using FileVault. Mac can read the Windows partition and Windows can read the Mac partition providing you have installed Boot Camp, but windows cannot write to mac and mac cannot write to windows. You could create a 3rd partition to store all the documents in one place for both OS'. If your going to be writing files larger than 4GB, format the partition NTFS and install NTFS-3G driver on the mac os.

On my personal Macbook Pro i have the Mac OSX side encrypted using FireVault. On the windows side i use Truecrypt full disk encryption. You just have to make sure your Windows side is on the first half of the partitioned drive. So that means manually creating partitions on the install of Mac OSX.
