gandalf Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Printing from an IE7 web screen has become problematic in that it can only be done by using CTL P - the print icon and file/print do nothing. It worked OK originally but I believe this to have happened after an MS patch but not positive about the cause. Anyone know how to return to normal functionality?? Cheers
Geoff Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Are your printer drivers up to date? IE7 defaults to 'shrink to fit' page printing. Some drivers can't cope with this.
gandalf Posted March 26, 2007 Author Posted March 26, 2007 Many thanks I'll give that a try. I have had other cases of XP machines suddenly only printing blank pages on direct print HP printers (not networked ones), from MS Office applications, due to patch/driver version issues so that could well be the case here. UPDATE :Renewal of printer drivers has no effect. Have also identified that Edit/Select All and Edit/Find do not operate other than as CTL A or F thus must be an IE7 config issue.

Geoff Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 I'd review the GPOs that effect IE7 (The GPMC Modelling and results wizards are your friends here). Especially watch out for any old GPOs that have IE6 settings in them. It might be worth deleting those and re-creating them.
