boogster Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I am looking to take on a Junior ICT Technician (London) and just wanted to know what sort of salary I should be looking at paying. Also as it is working in various schools it would be term time only so I would need to factor this into my thinking. Is or has anyone been in the same position and know how to work out a salary based on this. Thanks
Jiser Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Wouldnt it be around 15-18 mark + some sort of london weighting and pro rata would be factored on to that? Most of standard IT Techs jobs I have seen advertised are around the 14-18k mark.
featured_spectre Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 £17k + London weighting is the minimum for London in schools (seen between £17k - £21k for junior techs, £21k-£28k for normal techs and £25k-£45k for Network Managers - plus the additional London weighting). Also how far is the travelling between schools as that would have to be factored in for travel costs of the applicant.
boogster Posted June 28, 2011 Author Posted June 28, 2011 I am a private company and only thought public and Government businesses generally paid London weighting. I have certainly never been paid this in the various private companies I have worked for. There would be no travelling between schools as they would be in certain schools on certain days. D
dwhyte85 Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 We pay 14-16 for an IT tech, we are not a school or providing support. Will you offer mileage/expenses - we do for any travel and we've already outlined development for our newly employed tech. A local company is paying 15-18k who supports schools, they are based in Berkshire.
