mehball Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Hi All Does anyone know how you can set up Sharepoint 2010 to search the text within a PDF file? It currently works with MS Word etc but at the moment only searches the filename of the PDF rather than the text. Cheers

mehball Posted June 28, 2011 Author Report Posted June 28, 2011 Not officially but in the link above the writer added "At time of writing (March 2010), Adobe has published PDF iFilter 9 for 64-bit applications, tested on SharePoint 2007 but not yet listed as tested on SharePoint 2010. So far, it is working fine on my builds of SharePoint 2010 (Beta versions)"

mehball Posted June 28, 2011 Author Report Posted June 28, 2011 What do you mean not save them in sharepoint? When clicking on a PDF within sharepoint it prompts you to save the file locally. We are looking at forcing this to open the PDF within the browser like out external website.
