DHCP Corrupted

for the last few weeks we have been having problems with our DHCP server,

To correct this problem, either free additional space on your hard disk or restore the database. After you restore the database, ensure that conflict detection is enabled in DHCP server properties. I made a batch file to fix this and it works but soon after could be hours, days or weeks then it the DHCP Database corrupts again

 

my batch file

 

net stop dhcpserver

 

cd %SystemRoot%\System32\dhcp

 

jetpack dhcp.mdb dhcptemp.mdb

 

net start dhcpserver

 

 

any idea why this keeps happening ?

How much space do you have left on your system drive?

 

Do you have more than one DHCP Server? If yes, you need to enable conflict detection and it set it to '1' or greater on all DHCP Servers.

Hi Michael,

we currently have two DHCP servers, I have set the conflict detection and are both set to 1,

it has reduced the number of times the of errors have accrued, however they are still accruing .

both servers have about 4 to 5gb hard drive space left.

 

not sure what else it can be, I'm tempted to delete the DHCP and start again :S

Have you taken a look at restoring the DHCP backup to see if that helps? Usually located at C:\WINDOWS\System32\dhcp\backup if you haven't changed the path.

I would probably unauthorise one existing DHCP database and import the other (so they're then identical), then re-authorise it. Hopefully your conflict problems should go down.

Not yet, its happened again yesterday and last night, so I'm going to turn off one of the DHCP and leave one running for now and see what happens
