Test Exchange Install

I am looking to install Exchange 2010 Enterprise onto a spare machine to get a feel for how it works, however I'd like to connect it up to our existing Active Directory during the install. Will this cause problems for me later on when I remove Exchange from this box and install it onto the actual server it will sit on? I would install it directly to the box but we have our existing email server on there and I don't have any other machine powerful enough to install it on to which I could leave it on permanently!

1. I would be very careful when introducing exch 2010 then removing agian for testing purposes.

2. I would create an isolated lab env and test their.

3. Installing exch 2010 will make changes to your AD which is fine, however, when you come to remove exch 2010, although it can be straight forward it may have issues.

4. For testing purposes, and to only play around with exch 2010, create a lab env.

5.To test most functionality, you reallly need to a mirror env so you can play around with as it would live on your prod network.

You may have to remove some objects from AD.

Installing and then removing exchange from AD can turn into a nightmare!
