We have been reviewing our AUP and we need to put in a paragraph or so about the storage of personal photos and personal media etc, not being allowed on the school network. I am talking about kids dumping the contents of their phones into their area etc. Does anyone have anything like this that is clear and thorough I can steal?

Thanks

"All phones will be confiscated and smashed."

That should do it.

Also, is it weird that I read your username like a drunk person?

"But Mr Jones said I needed to take some pictures of my cat for Art on Thursday"

It's a legitimate use case.

Something like "storage of personal photos for purposes unrelated to schoolwork / activities is forbidden"?

Thanks, that's the kind of thing I am looking for with a little more added.

storage of personal photos or other multimedia files for purposes unrelated to schoolwork / activities is forbidden. Storage of files such as copyrighted material, such as music or video files is strictly prohibited.

Can anyone else add to that?

Any Such files identified on the school system may be removed without warning.

I believe ours contains something along the lines of:

"School computers and your home drive is for school use only"

Our translation is:

"Fill our servers with junk and we can and will delete it"

Ours applies to staff and students though, also if you use quotas you can easily enforce it. I remember a pupil once telling me they had no space left, so as per the routine we had a quick look in their home drive and there was about 80 pictures of horses, I asked why? Her response was they arent for school, I just like them. So I made her delete them all! They soon learn!
