Web Filter

I'm going to implement a web filter for my network but at the minute it has to run on windows. Any guides for setting one up using ISA would be great but if not then ill go with some free software.

 

Any ideas guys.

aaaaaahhhh. Don't your LEA deal with the filtering or have you got your own connection?

 

Symantec Web Security is one option, but other than that I can't suggest anything else for windows.

 

TurnKey or Linux on the other hand.......

BTW - It's not recommended to run anything on the same box as Exchange or ISA. Exchange becomes a pain and ISA simply locks itself down beyond all belief.

 

I would find an old workstation and opt for Smoothwall SchoolGuardian or an opensource alternative such as Smoothwall Express, IPCop or Endian Firewall.

 

Your RBC is obliged to give you a certain degree of filtering too by the way.

We use censornet, free open source (best price if u ask me)

 

Works well, you can also add vnc viewer to it etc, there is a new version that costs but were sticking with the freeone.
