Mullaney18 Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 I have had my HTC Desire for nearly a year now, and to what seems after the last update, every time I use something demanding, especially the 3G, it overheats and resets its self. It would then get stuck in a violent loop of resetting its self on boot. Has anyone had this problem? I have seen multiple videos on you tube with the same problem but unsure if its a HTC fault or I would have to pay excess to have it repaired. Cheers.
CyberNerd Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 stick cyanogenmod on it http://www.cyanogenmod.com/
creese Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Mine has been freezing lately, in the software sense, and it has been getting quite hot at times. I'm still trying to work out why. It doesn't reset though. I'm on Android 2.3.3 and Cyanogenmod 7
squeeky Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 contact htc or your phone provider and then if they wont help root the phone install a custom rom and downclock it to see if that helps
Domino Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Yeah, stick setcpu on it - and set it to downclock when the screens off or when the temp gets too high. I'm running CM7 on my desire and never had this problem 2
creese Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 I have SetCPU but not really done much with it. I'll have a go at that.
squeeky Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 set cpu wont do anything unless you have a kernel that allows overclocking
Domino Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 set cpu wont do anything unless you have a kernel that allows overclocking Aye, but CM7 includes a multistep kernel as default
