Cloneing a Win7 HDD

Can I clone the hard drive of a broken machine with a working machine thats the same make and model without problems with the SSID ect, basically just rename and add to the domain when finished. I remember on XP we used to run a little piece of software to change the SSID but what about on windows 7?

 

I plan on using a stand alone 2 drive docking station that will clone drives

 

what am I going to come up against,

If you are cloning to many drives you will need to run sysprep if you want stuff like KMS activation and WSUS to work. You can use the PersistPNPDrivers (or something like that) setting in a sysprep xml file so that it keeps all the machine specific drivers installed on the image.
