Nij.UK Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Hi all I was wondering if someone would be able to help me here.... the music dept have done / got a couple of tracks in MID format, and they want them burning as an audo CD. What i was thinking was convert them into MP3 and then just NERO, but i cant seem to find nething that is free to convert MID to MP3 I only got told about this last minute and its needed for a production today because of Red Nose Day Does any one know of a free convertor that i can get my hands on.... Thanks Niraj
Geoff Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 MIDI (what the MID file contains) isn't an audio format per say. It's more a programming language. The machine equivelent of the music score really. So there's no audio to record. I'd play the file with a midi player (I think there's a midi player as standard in windows, there certainly used to be) and connect your soundcards line out to your microphone socket, that way you can do an analog recording of the track. It wont be great quality but as your only bothered about saving it as mp3 that's hardly a concern.
Netman Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Try Jet Audio Basic (Freeware) from http://www.cowonamerica.com/download/ I seem to remember using this to do exactly waht you need...
