[pass] Running it as a server farm

Has anyone tried running PASS using a server farm to provide the DB? Specifically the financial side.

 

Disclaimer: I know next to nothing about server farms other than the theory behind them, my small bit of research indicates that there could be latency issues as the database is replicated between servers.

 

Whislt we are not that big I'm looking at my options if we wanted to run a single installation over multiple sites. Option B is running a VPN between the sites and then connecting that way but that means that if the internet goes down so does one site's acces to PASS. But then that causes issues with replication....
