sammy42 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 I have been asked to investigate moving the school moodle away from internal to CLEO moodle. This is not the problem the problem is some teachers have said that colleagues from other schools say that Cleo moodle is not very good. Not wanting to get into an argument without knowing the pros and the cons. Can anyone who uses CLEO moodle give advice guidance
Cache Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 From my point of view: Advantages: Centrally hosted - not dependant on your internet connection for external access Backups managed centrally Security/patching handled externally Web Server security handled externally Disadvantages: Additional modules can't be added by yourself, need to be requested to CLEO No Single Sign-On Less general control (depending on what you want to achieve). Restoration needs to be requested by CLEO unless Course has been backed up manually. We don't have a huge use of moodle at the moment though, but it's gradually starting to grow.
mrverrall Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 CLEO Moodle is also only version 1.9 rather than the current 2.0
