FMS Solus Update- Can't login

Hi

 

This is driving me nuts and the support team down here don't seem to be answering the phone...

 

I am trying to update our fms setup from solus 2.

 

I put in a valid users details (level 5 and all that) and I get the following error when I click login:

 

 

Solus 2 Error

 

System.Data.Odbc.OdbcException: NO_DATA - no error information available

we no longer user fms so am not sure how you update it, do you access solus via sims.net interface? or via a solus stand alone shortcut?

 

Are your FMS login details different to your sims.net login details? if so try using sims.net logon details because the indication on the error message is that the credentials are not liked.

Your FMS sysman login will need to be used and this will be different than the normal SIMS .net one. There is a default password set for sysman so if you want I'll pm you it?

FMS has a seperate set of users from SIMS .net since it is a completely seperate SQL DB. Your sims .net username and password won't work. If you are unsure of which user credentials to use for this, just ask your bursar / finance manager for his/hers. Chances are, they will have full access rights.

 

BTW, if this is the update that was released in february, then you may get a problem where the DB is updated, but not the client software. When I rang up about this, they seemed to know it well so I presume a number of schools have had this problem.

Thanks for the replies.

 

I've been using the fms user/password from the bursar and not the sims.net password. Also the one the bursar uses. Also set myself up a new one in FMS. All give the same error.

 

Sysman also gives the same error. (although our sims support initally told me this was why I was getting the eror and needed NOT to use sysman)

 

Reinstalled .net framework this morning to no avail.

Well, if you're sims support can't sort this one out, then they need sacking!

 

You could always ask for the update on CD

They're sending out a cd with the upgrade.

 

Of course that doesn't help next update time...
