robk Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 We are attempting to install moodle with CMIS facility intergration. We managed to get the Facility module to work on moodle 1.9 but moodle 2 doesn`t like the block. Has anyone been able to get this to work? Not been able to find anything on google at the moment.
robk Posted May 16, 2011 Author Posted May 16, 2011 A little more info. The block I am looking at is this one Moodle.org: Modules and plugins which we have installed and got working perfectly under Moodle 1.9. However, as we are hoping to launch a new VLE we would really like to start on Moodle 2.0. The block fails to install on Moodle 2 and seems not want to be hacked to work on it!
Marci Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 It's doable, but my workload is too high at the moment to get the block rewritten... have been juggling stuff for a few months now to try and get me the free time to get it resolved, but work are being slightly less than co-operative on the matter!
Marci Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Hi Rob - this block has now been rewritten for Moodle 2.2 - drop me a line if you want to try it out...
Marci Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Have now submitted the rewritten Facility to Moodle block to the Moodle 2.2 plugins database at Moodle.org.
jann Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Have you got a link to the block on Moodle.org Marci? Browsing through Plugins directory and unable to find your updated version, maybe a delay in the approval process... Cheers
Marci Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Yep... Full manual approval required on new submissions so it'll take a while... But, if you fire me your email address by PM on here I can hook you up with a download linky.
tonyd Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) Hi! Has anyone succeeded getting the new CMIS integration plugin for moodle 2.2 working on a moodle running in a WIMP setup? To be speciic, we've a new Windows 2008 R2 server, running IIS, PHP 5.3.13 and MySQL 5.1.61. I'm trying to connect to the CMIS server, but am having problems understanding exactly which SQL connection DLLs etc are required in PHP. Also, can anyone give me a pointer as to what the SSQL DataSource Name should be? The server details I have working ijn my old CMIS plug in config file are host=cmis-server and dbname=CMIS_ADMIN. In order to use these as a DSN, what format should I put them in? Thanks, Tony Edited June 13, 2012 by tonyd

jaminben Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Hi, Is their any chance this will be updated to Moodle 2.6? Also does anyone have this working successfully where Moodle is installed on an Ubuntu server in a Windows domain? Thanks
Marci Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Possibly (if it doesn't already work with it - have you tried it?)... although I think this will be the last update it sees as work have decided to switch to SIMS so I'll no longer have access to a Facility setup to develop from. We've run it fine on uBuntu, CentOS and FreeBSD without issues. 1
jaminben Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I haven't tried it with 2.6 yet.... I was just going by the working versions. We're setting up our first Moodle system (Moodle & Linix noob) so will stick with 2.5 to start with and if that goes ok then I think we'll try out 2.6 to see if that works. Thanks
Marci Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Some users have already reported it as working (somewhere - on moodle.org in the comments I think), hence I haven't looked at it already... ultimately though, if no-one takes on maintenance of it beyond end of May (when our Facility license expires) then 2.6’ll probs be the last version it works with so may be worth in your longer-term plan considering the options available for ZiLink or Overnet etc

GREED Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Just because ZiLink was specifically mentioned... ZiLink Facility works just fine and will continue meet latest Moodle releases. 1
jaminben Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Thanks Greed.... Anyone else using ZiLink as it looks the better deal to us at the moment. Anyone had any issues with it? Many Thanks Ben
MoodleGeek Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 The open source Moodle/CMIS integration block was originally developed by Guy Thomas who now develops Overnet Data's Moodle/CMIS integration.
GREED Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 @MoodleGeek welcome to the forum, please feel free to introduce yourself, or are you Guy Thomas himself?
